Govt. of West Bengal Started a Group Health Protection Scheme named “Swasthya Sathi“. Yojana Started by the Chief Minister of WB Smt Mamta Banerjee on 30 Dec 2016. Swasthya Sathi Scheme took place from 1 Feb 2017. On 8th March 2016 First Meeting of State Level Implementation Committee Held at Nabanna. As per the Notice Scheme Started with a Benefit of Rs 1.5 Lakh per Annum Per Family through Insurance. It Contain Health Coverage of Secondary & Tertiary Care. For Critical Diseases Like Cancer, Orthopaedic, Neuro-Surgery etc. 5 lakh Per Annum Per Family Allotted under the Scheme Swasthya Sathi.
On 4 Oct 2018 the Coverage Extended Upto 5 lakh INR per annnum for all Diseases. There is No Cap on Family Members Now. All the Physically Challenged Members of Family are Covered in the Swasthya Sathi Scheme. on 31 August 2018, Around 3.18 Lakh Took Benefit of Healthcare Amount of INR 301.57 Crore through Swasthya Sathi Scheme. More than 1300 Nursing homes and Hospitals are Registered under Swasthya Sathi Scheme.
